Crisis assistance is provided in special circumstances for residences that are urgently in need of one-time financial assistance.  Eligibility is guided by the recommendations the Madison Department of Social Services.

Working closely with the guidance counselors at Walter C. Polson and Daniel Hand, we offer assistance to students whose families need help providing a tutor for subjects they are struggling with.  If you feel that your child qualifies for this service, please contact their school guidance department.

The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be ignited.

Each year, kids break free from the classroom and homework for a little while to pursue the joys of childhood. We realize that summer also adds an additional financial burden to some families in the form of daycare.  What better way to help these families than to offer camp scholarships? Eligibility for special assistance is guided by the recommendations the Madison Department of Social Services.

Someone just asked me what my favorite thing about camp is.  I can only think of one thousand answers... maybe more.

When the kids are home for summer, some families struggle with the additional cost of meals.  If your child qualifies for the reduced rate or free lunch program during the school year, they also qualify for our summer lunch program. We will provide the groceries to make five lunches for each week the kids are out of school.  This service is administered through the MCS Food Pantry and the lunches will be distributed during our normal pantry hours.

First we eat, then we do everything else.

Getting the kids back to school can be expensive.  We're here to help with supplies through our participation in the Backpack Program.  Eligibility for special assistance is guided by the recommendations of the Madison Department of Social Services.

Today is your day. Your mountain is waiting so get on your way.

The Madison Lions Club is the primary sponsor of our Holiday Food Basket Program that we offer at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.  We believe that every Madison family should enjoy a proper holiday meal regardless of financial restrictions and MCS has delivered the baskets for several decades, making it one of our longest running programs.

The Madison Community really gets behind this program too and offers a ton of help.  The girls scouts bake cookies, the library donates books, our police department donates the Christmas Turkeys, the Excel club and Boy scouts pitch in - and the list goes on. We have so many wonderful helpers and are grateful for everything they do!

Please be sure to visit our Sponsors Page and read some of the posts below - You will be so proud to say you live in Madison!
