Heartfelt Thanks to Our Community

Special Assistance Programs

Dec 05

MCS extends heartfelt thanks to our community for its recent support which enabled the very successful outreach this Thanksgiving providing food baskets to 94 families and individuals.

The Madison Jaycees, the Madison Lions, and the Madison Rotary made substantial monetary donations.  Groups in town held food drives which brought in more than 6500 pounds of food!  Our thanks go out to:

  • St. Margaret’s Church, the students at Ryerson School, and Boy Scout Troup 490 for their amazing efforts.
  • Local companies such as Clarity Solutions and Bilco Doors also donated food.
  • Daniel Hand’s football team gave of its time to pack the donated food. Girl Scouts in town made cookies and Summerhill Farms Catering donated pies.
  • The DHHS Leo Club along with many families and individuals from the community helped fill and deliver the baskets.

This endeavor would not have been possible without the help of Wendy Larsen, Social Services Coordinator for Madison Youth & Family Services, and the organizational time and talents of Margaret and Vinnie Diglio.

We are thankful for the wonderful efforts made by groups and individuals within the Madison community which make the work of MCS and the Holiday Food Basket Program possible.
